U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallions with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 464 lift M777 howitzers at Landing Zone Blue Bird, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 28, 2021. Footage includes Marines of HMH-464 using CH-53E Super Stallions to conduct an external lift of M777 howitzers in support of 10th Marine Regiment. Rolling thunder is a live-fire artillery event that tests 10th Marine Regiment’s ability to operate in a simulated littoral environment against a peer threat in a dynamic and multi-domain scenario. HMH-464 is a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, the aviation combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force. 10th Marine Regiment is a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Division, the ground combat element of II MEF.
