Chief Fire Controlman (SS) Bill Worthen, assigned to USS Washington (SSN 787), explains the significance of being from Washington while serving aboard a boat named after the state. Worthen is a native of Kennewick, Wash. Washington is the 14th Virginia-class attack submarine and the third United States Navy ship named for the State of Washington.
