201001-N-RB168-1001 PITTSBURGH, Pa. (March 2, 2021) Julia Parsons celebrated her 100th birthday. Parsons served in the Navy during WWII as a member of the Women Accepted for Emergency Service (WAVES). The city of Pittsburgh came together to celebrate her life and legacy with a drive-by parade and gift presentation from the Veterans Breakfast Club outside her home. The Veterans Breakfast Club is a nonprofit organization creating communities of listening around veterans and their stories to ensure this living history is never forgotten.
