U.S. Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force and Koku-Jieitai aeromedical evacuation Airmen participate in a mass casualty scenario at North West Field, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam during Exercise Cope North 21, February 10, 2021. The goal of Cope North 21 is to improve combat readiness, develop integrated humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, and increase interoperability of U.S. Forces, Royal Australian Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force, or Koku-Jieitai. The mass casualty scenario is part of the humanitarian assistance disaster response training, which is the first time in exercise history the Koku-Jieitai led the training effort.
