When FEMA called on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help with relief efforts in Louisiana following hurricane Laura, finding lodging became a daunting task. USACE responders often fond themselves driving two to three hours each way to the Lake Charles area in the early days of the relief response. FEMA stepped up and established a camp so that relief workers could focus on the mission.
