On National Purple Heart Day, Governor Mark Gordon read an official proclamation declaring August 7 as Purple Heart Day at the State Capitol, Cheyenne, Wyo., Aug. 7, 2020. A small group attended the event, which included recipients of the Purple Heart and Maj. Gen. Gregory Porter, adjutant general, Wyoming National Guard.
Purple Heart Day is a time when we honor and remember the members of the U.S. Armed Forces who were wounded in combat or paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
