What began as a project to improve land surveying, floodplain mapping, vegetation classification and endangered species management at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis has become a revolutionary innovation that could save the Air Force millions of dollars and countless hours of labor.
The flight tested the capability for environmental scanning towards studying habitats of the rare and endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler. Professionals at AFIMSC take innovative ideas and try to funnel them throughout the Air Force by making sure ideas are achievable, feasible, and realistic.
