In this segment of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum's local history series, Museum Educator Zach Smyers takes visitors to Ragged Island, located in Virginia's Isle of Wight County. It was the site where Confederate General, R.E. Colston watched the first battle between ironclad warships in March 1862. In this short segment, visitors are presented with some historical perspectives on the historic site and its significance to naval history. This video was produced by the staff of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, and is also viewable on their YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/HRNavalMuseum.
