In this installment of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum's local history segments, Museum Educator, AJ Orlikoff takes visitors virtually to the U.S. Navy's oldest continuously operating hospital, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. The sprawling hospital is located just across the Elizabeth River from the museum in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, and its historic building #1 is viewable from the fantail of the USS Wisconsin (BB-64). In this segment, visitors gain some perspectives on this history of the sprawling complex. This video segment was produced by the staff members of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, and is also viewable on their YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/HRNavalMuseum.
