U.S. Army Task Force 46 conducted a Defense Readiness Event (DRE) on May 21, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan. The exercise was conducted to promote readiness for their newly acquired defense chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear response force (DCRF) mission. The mission was taken from Joint Task Force - Civil Support (JTF-CS) while they focus on COVID-19 defense support to civil authorities (DSCA) in New Jersey and New York.
In this exercise, Task Force 46 mustered over 100 Soldiers to respond to a notional nuclear detonation occurred in Seattle. They are expected to gather, transport, and set up operations in the location within 24 hours of a CBRN event. This video shows how they did it.
