The National Anthem is sung by Sgt. 1st Class Brooke Albert, followed by remarks from Major General Ray Shields, the Adjutant General of New York, the reading of names of members of the New York State Military Forces who have died in the past year, laying of a wreath and playing of Taps.
No members of the New York Army or Air National Guard have died in combat since 2018.
