A field hospital, established in response to the dire need for additional hospital beds as the coronavirus (COVID-19) overwhelmed New York City’s existing medical infrastructure, opened and closed at the Jacob K. Javits Center. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
