Members of the Army National Guard’s 223rd Military Intelligence Battalion provide linguistic assistance for the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley Food Bank in San Jose, California, April 27, 2020.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Food Connection Program’s Call Center has received an influx of phone calls from members of the community, many who do not speak English as their primary language.
The military members have stepped in to help alleviate the extensive backlog of voicemails and continue to assist food bank employees with answering phone calls on a daily basis.
