Soldiers from Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team deliver meals to Chenango County residents, Apr. 23. The Soldiers are assisting paid staff and volunteers of the Chenango County Office of the Aging by delivering frozen and shelf-stable meals during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Each day the Ithaca, N.Y. based unit delivers hundreds of meals to county residents. The Soldiers took over the food distribution duties from volunteers, many of which are elderly, after county personnel paused the program due to health concerns. Now that the program has resumed, the Soldiers will continue to distribute food until the county can return the program to normal operations.
