U.S. Army Reserve Capt. Holli Nitzsche, a nursing instructor with Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force (UAMTF) 811-1, gives a shout-out to her mother in Pocahontas, Ark., while augmented to Stamford Health-Bennett Medical Center, Stamford, Conn., April 23, 2020. Nitzsche and her team are assisting medical soldiers with the Connecticut Army National Guard and hospital staff in the efforts to increase the care capacity and treatment ability of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients, alleviating civilian providers from having to manage lower priority patients. The UAMTF employs unique, expeditionary capabilities provided by U.S. Northern Command to support FEMA as part of a whole-of-nation response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
