200423-M-IR130-2001 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 23, 2020) Reconnaissance Marines assigned to the Maritime Raid Force, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), helo-cast combat rubber raiding crafts from a CH-53E Super Stallion April 23, 2020. The 26th MEU is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
