This edition features stories on the Soldiers of the 12th Infantry Regiment who work to separate the people of the Kunar Province from anti-Afghan forces, an Oregon National Guard unit that provides mountain rescue when at home, now having that experience prove invaluable while deployed in Iraq, 173rd Airborne Brigade “Sky Soldiers” running 24 hours to honor 48 fellow Sky Soldiers killed in Vietnam while vastly outnumbered. Present day “Sky Soldiers”, run annually to remember their 173rd brethren; and a Soldier who was deployed to Afghanistan three times while stationed in Italy, and received the Silver Star for his actions at the Battle of Wanat.
