Marines and Sailors must wear face coverings when within six feet of others and possess a face covering at all times when on base to protect against the spread of COVID-19, effective immediately. The issued neck gaiter is preferred and may be down around the neck when not in use, but other cloth face coverings are authorized in uniform if they present a neat and professional military appearance in accordance with a new I Marine Expeditionary Force policy and MARADMIN 218/20.
