Virtual Promotion Boards during COVID-19 pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Army will continue promoting troops while mitigating risk.
For the next six months, battalion commanders are empowered to conduct virtual personnel boards
instead of meeting troops in-person.
These commanders will have the liberty to choose how their boards are conducted.
Battalion command sergeants major can also make promotion recommendations to commanders based
on one-on-one interactions with eligible Soldiers
