U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Emergency Medical Facility - Mike, based at Naval Hospital Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Fl., arrived at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans April 4, 2020. Navy EMFs are trained to provide medical support, from emergency medicine to acute medical and surgical care. EMF-M will provide care at a temporary medical facility at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center as part of the Department of Defense response to fight COVID-19.U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, is providing military support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support communities in need.
