DOD News Story: Some of the first U.S. Troops deployed for Defender Europe 20 have landed in Europe.
Nearly 200 Soldiers from 1st Cavalry Division arrived in Bavaria. Approximately 20 thousand U.S. troops from the states to take part in exercises across ten European countries. Exercise Defender 20 is the deployment of a division-size combat-credible force from the United States to Europe.
Joachim Herrman, Bavarian Minister of the Interior welcomed troops as they arrived along with Brig. Gen. Christopher Norrie, Commanding General 7th Army Training Command.
