Realistic disaster response training
Patriot South 20 is a scenario based around a simulated Category 4 hurricane that will cause major structural damage and flooding and allows participants to build partnerships and maintain readiness for future Domestic Operations. The National Guard works with its federal, state, and local partners throughout the year in order to ensure a successful, practiced response to any disaster. Task Force Trident, led by the Mississippi National Guard's 66th Troop Command, conducts mission command of MSNG units conducting security operations, assisting in search and rescue missions, removing debris from lines of communication, providing communications support, conducting commodity distribution and conducting other Defense Support to Civil Authority (DSCA) operations.(U.S. Army National Guard video by Sgt.
