It's time for the final video in the series, The Making of a Drill Sergeant, where we follow a U.S. Army Reserve noncommissioned officer through the process of becoming a U.S. Army drill sergeant.
In this last video, we speak to our drill sergeant, Sgt. Alycia Perkins, after she spent some time on the trail with recruits at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Perkins, a Columbia, South Carolina native, said she has found the role of drill sergeant to be challenging, yet very rewarding so far.
To read more about her journey, check out the third and final article in the series at https://www.army.mil/…/the_making_of_a_drill_sergeant_trans….
