The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Portland & Walla Walla District Dive Coordinators, use a Remotely Operated Vehicle to inspect the McNary Dam Project’s intake trash racks to survey for debris that may need to be removed before any refurbishment of the Trash racks can occur. The ROV are unoccupied, highly maneuverable underwater vessels that can be used to explore water depths while being operated by someone at the surface. The ROV is equipped with at a video camera, lights as well as Sonar & Thermal imaging for zero visibility that they can transmit back to the surface in real time.
