    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District is building a new sea lamprey barrier at Harpersfield Dam in Geneva, OH, to prevent sea lamprey passage and reproduction from approximately 1,266 miles upstream of the Harpersfield Dam on the Grand River and its tributaries. The project will also save $335,000 per lampricide treatment. The project is executed by USACE with funding from the the EPA's Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and cost-shared with Great Lakes Fishery Commission and Ashtabula Metroparks.
