Master Chief Personnel Specialist Ren Hockenberry, currently serving aboard USS Port Royal (CG-73) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was on a site visit at the Marshal Fahim Training Facility in Afghanistan in 2014 when shots were fired.
