SOUTH CHINA SEA (Nov. 01, 2019) Command Master Chief Dean Howell, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) command master chief, describes what McCampbell brings to the 7th Fleet area of operations. McCampbell is underway conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific region while assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
