On Oct. 19, 2019, the Nebraska National Guard joined forces with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, Nebraska Task Force One and many other agencies for a domestic response exercise in Lincoln. Operation Titan Fall was designed to test and improve emergency procedures and communication between these three organizations, as well as local civil authorities and first responders. During the exercise, Nebraska National Guard aviators assisted Task Force One firefighters in extracting simulated victims from Stagecoach Lake using hoist capabilities, and transporting them to nearby CHI Health Saint Elizabeth hospital. The joint exercise was created in response to the historic floods this Spring which caused significant damage across the state. (Nebraska National Guard footage by Pfc. Skyler Schendt and Spc.
