Technical Sgt. Steven Marques explains what it takes to be a nondesructive inspection specialist at the 143d Airlift Wing, Feb. 2, 2019, Quonset Air National Guard Base, North Kingstown, R.I. Responsible for using noninvasive methods to inspect the insides of metal objects, our Nondestructive Inspection Airmen detect possible defects in systems and equipment before anything can become a dangerous problem. Utilizing everything from x-rays to ultrasound, these specialists find even the smallest imperfections and take the corrective measures needed to keep our equipment working safely.
