U.S. Marines with the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Southern Command set up a water purification site on the beach of Base de Entrenamiento de Infanteria de Marina, Coveñas, Colombia, Sept. 27, 2019. A water purification site is used to convert salt water into fresh drinking water for human consumption. The task force is conducting training and engineering projects hand-in-hand with partner nation military members in Latin America and the Caribbean during their deployment to the region, which coincides with hurricane season.
