U.S. and Ukraine forces demonstrate defense strength and response with live artillery, helicopters and military vehicles during a simulated wet gap rehearsal during Rapid Trident 2019, Sept. 18, 2019, in Yavoriv, Ukraine. The exercise included vehicle movements of troops, live artillery, medical evacuation utilizing helicopters and military ambulances and engineering equipment to engage and close the distance with simulated enemy forces on the other side of a waterway. Rapid Trident 2019, is an annual, multinational exercise that supports joint combined interoperability among the partner militaries of Ukraine and the United States, as well as Partnership for Peace nations and NATO allies, which involves approximately 3,700 personnel from 14 nations, Sept. 13-28, 2019, Yavoriv, Ukraine.
