Camp Taji Iraq
In a ceremony held at Camp Taji, Iraq, two battalions under the 77th Sustainment Brigade completed their Transfer of Authority. The 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, a Virginia National Guard unit with the motto "Slay the Beast" completed their successful tour and are heading back to their home station in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The torch was passed to the 152nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion with the motto, "Sustain the Fight". The 152nd is a National Guard unit from South Dakota and will take on the important mission of sustaining the warfighters in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
