U.S. Marine Sgt. Arturo Ramirez, a field artillery cannoneer with 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division, talks about returning to the area where he grew up and his relation to the local community during Los Angeles Fleet Week 2019, Aug. 31, 2019. Fleet Week provides an opportunity for the Marine Corps and Navy to demonstrate the quality of personnel to their civilian counter parts. Static displays give the Marine Corps the opportunity to show the Navy-Marine Corps relationship with the American people and to showcase the ability to serve as an expeditionary force in readiness.
