The 176th Wing Machine Shop demonstrates some of its capabilities. The 176th Aircraft Metals Technology Shop within the maintenance group designs, fabricates, welds, heat treats, and machines precision tools and components for aerospace weapon systems & SE (support equipment). Airframes include the C-17, HC130-J, and HH-60 airframes. Some of their work includes conventional and CNC (computer numeric control) metal working machines, of which they must determine machine requirements, calculations and settings. Their work ensures completed components are serviceable & meet required specifications, to deliver solutions to Air Force weapon systems and the war fighter.
