NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY DEVESELU, Romania (Aug. 13, 2019) U. S. Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Romania (U.S. AAMDS RO) hosted a change of command ceremony in which Cmdr. Axel Steiner was relieved of his role of commanding officer by Cmdr. John Fitzpatrick at Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania, Aug. 13, 2019. Change of command ceremonies are a time honored naval tradition where the crew formally acknowledges the passing of the command from the current commanding officer to the next.
