The All Guard Rifle Team (comprised of Air and Army National Guardsmen) competes against other branches of the military, and civilians, at the 2019 National Trophy Rifle Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. The Rifle Matches are held annually and hosted by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). CMP was established by Congress and President Roosevelt in 1903 to foster marksmanship and national defense with a statutory mission to "instruct citizens of the U.S. in marksmanship" and "give priority to activities that benefit firearms safety, training and competition for youth." A cannon is fired every morning throughout the competition at 6:55 a.m. to signify the start of the day's events.
