The Battles Won Academy brings together approximately 100 of the country’s top student-leaders for a week in the nation’s capital. The Battles Won Academy is a part of the Marine Corps’ Semper Fidelis All-American Program, which recognizes young men and women who excel in athletics, but have also shown themselves to be leaders in the classroom and in their communities. The program provides Marines with several opportunities to purposefully engage the student leaders and share leadership lessons that will enhance their future success. Nearly 100 high school student-athletes were selected to attend the academy, which runs through July 14 and focuses on developing their self-confidence, discipline, teamwork, and honing the fighting spirit that embodies the Marine Corps.
Day two footage includes student athletes traveling to Quantico to understand what life is like as a Marine. They conducted a physical fitness session, obstacle course, MV-22 Osprey demonstration, Marine Corps Martial Arts demonstration, shooting marine corps weapon systems on a simulator, and visiting the National Museum of the Marines Corps to learn more about our history.
