Airman 1st Class Kerstin Burks, 9th Force Support Squadron food services specialist, talks about her mission at Beale Air Force Base, California and how she supports members at the installation.
(upbeat hip hop music) - [Kerstin] So, to be able to actually cook a full meal by yourself, I think that's actually rewarding. 'Cause it takes a lot of time, and a lot of effort. My name is A1C Kerstin Burks. My job title is food services specialist. Believe it or not, being in food, there's a lot of skills that you need, and different assets that you learn. I love how I can interact with customers, and see the reaction whenever they taste a food. And they're like, yeah, this is good! I feel like a long hard day, so it's pretty fulfilling. What motivates me? My family, definitely being away from home, missing them. That phone call really helps get you through the day, and doing the best I can, really for them.
