U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, and members of the Italian military participated in exercise Joint Stars 2019, a bilateral training exercise between the Italian Armed Forces and U.S. Marines in Sardinia, Italy, May 13-30, 2019. SPMAGTF-CR-AF 19.2 is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
