The spouses of 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, participated in a spouse spur ride at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreational Area. A spur ride is a cavalry tradition where Soldiers complete tasks and exercises to earn their spurs and be inducted into the Order of the Spur. Although spouses will not be inducted following the event, it is still a great way to experience some of what their Soldier goes through and it gives them an opportunity to connect with their Soldier Family Readiness Group leadership.
