A C-130 Hercules aircraft loaded with the USDA Forest Service MAFFS II (Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System) from the 152nd Airlift Wing, Nevada Air National Guard, drops a water line during annual training and recertification in Colorado Springs, Co. The MAFFS unit is capable of dropping 3,000 gallons of water or fire retardant in 6 seconds. These aircraft are activated to help out the USDA Forest service tankers when wildfire activity is high. Three of the four members of the MAFFS Air Expeditionary Group - Colorado, Nevada, and Wyoming is participating in the week-long training. (U.S. Air National Guard video by Tech. Sgt.
