Members of the 176th Wing Air National Guard participated in Precision Jumpmaster training in Hawaii, February 2019. Jumpmaster training is a rigorous course that crosses several airframes, boats, crews, and branches of the military. This joint training involved more than 100 personnel including pilots, maintenance, and force support. This training was two-fold. One was to certify new Jumpmasters with the 212th Rescue Squadron, and the other was to prepare for the upcoming NASA mission. It is important for our military PJ’s to be able to respond to the NASA mission of locating astronauts and equipment and to safely retrieve assets in rescue situations.
