More than 150 Marines and Sailors from III Marine Expeditionary Force and major subordinate commands make up the detachment tasked with all administrative and logistical support for the Reunion of Honor in Iwo To, Japan. Dozens of World War II veterans and veterans of the Battle of Iwo Jima took part in the ceremony. Held annually, it is a testament to the strength of the U.S.-Japan Alliance, which has been the cornerstone of peace and security in the Indo-Pacific for over 60 years.
