She was more than just a soldier. Army veteran Christina Rodriguez-Smith was a mortuary affairs specialist. She now marches each year in the Bataan Memorial Death March in honor of the fallen service members she helped to get home. The march is conducted through New Mexico’s challenging high desert terrain in honor of the service members who defended the Philippines during World War II.
