Every year, millions of Americans read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to their children on Christmas Eve. For the tens of thousands of Soldiers deployed around the world, this is often not a possibility. One group of Soldiers deployed to Kuwait took turns reading this poem to their loved ones.

Fifty-six Soldiers assigned to the 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team, Mississippi Army National Guard, based out of Tupelo, Miss., read verses of “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement Clarke Moore while stationed at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, December 2018.
