U.S. Army Spc. Christopher Smith evacuated his home in Magalia, California, during the Camp Fire. His parents, grandfather and uncle all lost their homes in the fire. Smith is in the California Army National Guard's 649th Engineer Company, 579th Engineer Battalion, 49th Military Police Brigade, based in Chico, California. Filmed Nov. 17, 2018, in Paradise, California. (U.S. Air National Guard video by Senior Airman Crystal Housman)
