Soldiers from the 289th Quartermaster Company, 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, begin a convoy Nov. 5 from Fort Sam Houston. They bring with them the capabilities to provide food, water, showers, laundry facilities, fuel and vehicle maintenance support. U.S. Northern Command is providing military support to the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to secure the southern border of the United States.
