Sappers with the Royal Canadian Army’s 5th Combat Engineer Regiment prepare for an attack in the mountains near Alvdal, Norway. Being combat engineers, the sappers built makeshift obstacles and fortifications to stop vehicles from advancing up the mountain paths.
Exercise Trident Juncture 2018 brings together around 50,000 personnel, 10,000 vehicles, 65 ships and 250 aircraft from 31 NATO Allies and partner nations. Held in Norway, the NATO exercise starts on 25 October and continues through 7 November.
