SAN ANTONIO - U.S. Army Soldiers and equipment arrive at Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland in preparation for their deployment to assist Department of Homeland Security along the southwest border as directed by the Department of Defense through Army headquarters October 29. Military personnel will provide a range of support including planning assistance, engineering support, fixed and rotary wing aviation support to move U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel, medical teams to triage, treat and prepare for commercial transport of patients, command and control facilities and temporary housing for CBP personnel.
