    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District

    Following Hurricane Maria, FEMA tasked the Corps of Engineers to provide technical assistance to PREPA to prevent collapse of the damaged spillway. Work continues on Stage 2 of the repair efforts, including stabilization of the spillway, placement of large stones and grout, and the re-connection of damaged water supply lines, Isabela, Puerto Rico, September 27, 2018.

    MAJ Alexander Walker, USACE Antilles Office Commander, provides an update on the progress of the ongoing repairs. The Guajataca Dam is essential to provide significant benefits to the people of Puerto Rico, its businesses, critical infrastructure and the environment.
